The purpose of nutrition is to explain metabolic and physiological responses of the body to our diet. With advances in molecular biology, biochemistry and genetics, nutrition is developing into the study of metabolism, which seeks to connect diet and health through the lens of biochemical processes.

Nutrition is the provision of materials necessary to support life through food - in other words, not just getting food in and out! It is the absorption and assimilation of nutrients for the ‘construction’ and repair of cells and nourishment of the whole body. When it comes to good digestion a lot of things matter, from lifestyle, emotions, attitude, timing of meals, habits to environment. A healthy dietary regime, rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, is the frontline defence against premature aging, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, allergies and most other illnesses.
